Your site editor guide

Edit your site straight from the browser - no software to download. Choose a design and contact details, easily rearrange the site's structure however you like, and click any text or image for simple editing. Everything saves automatically. The guide explains how to do each thing - jump to the chapter you need or search above. We recommend working through the sections in order, but the choice is yours. Good luck 😊

Getting started

Enter edit mode, see how your site looks to visitors, and understand auto-save.

How to enter edit mode
  1. If the site hasn't been published yet - you go straight to editing, no password.
  2. If the site is already published - open your site link and add /edit at the end of the address. For example, if your site is at websiteai.ae/sites/xxxxx, go to websiteai.ae/sites/xxxxx/edit and enter the password you chose.
Save the edit link in your browser bookmarks so you can come back quickly next time.
Auto-save - where's the save button?

There's no save button, and that's not a mistake. Every change you make - text, replacing an image, reordering - saves automatically within a few seconds of you stopping typing.

In the corner of the screen you'll see a small indicator that alternates between "Saving..." and "Saved ✓". When you see ✓, it's safe to refresh or close the tab.

How to see your site the way a visitor sees it

In the top navigation bar of edit mode there's an "Edit mode" checkbox. Uncheck it and the site shows exactly as visitors will see it - without edit buttons or toolbars.

To return to editing - check the box again. Simple, and no changes are lost.

Is there a preview before publishing?

There's no separate preview screen - the draft itself is the preview. Uncheck "Edit mode" in the top menu and that's exactly how the site will look to visitors after publishing.

Design & appearance

Change your template, colors, social links, and site language.

Changing the design template

In edit mode, the top menu has a "Template" picker with 15 different designs. Clicking swaps the template instantly - all your text, images, and contact details are preserved.

Try a few templates until you find the right one. If you can't decide, narrow it to two and let someone from the outside pick.
Changing the color palette

Next to the template picker in the top menu are six colored circles - each represents a different color palette for the same template (three light and three dark). Clicking swaps all site colors instantly.

Social media links

In the site footer, in edit mode, there's a row of social network icons (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and more). Clicking an icon opens a small dialog to enter the full URL.

Don't have a particular network? Leave it empty and the icon simply won't appear for visitors.

Changing the font

The font is chosen together with the template - each template comes with a font that fits its design. If you want a different typographic look, try different templates via the template picker.

Site in multiple languages Business Booster

On the Business Booster plan the site supports 7 languages: Hebrew, English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian, and Italian. On the free plan the site is in a single language only.

Enabling an extra language: in the top edit strip, next to the "Site language" picker, there's an "Extra languages" row of checkboxes with a short code for each language (HE, EN, AR, FR, ES, RU, IT). The language currently selected in the picker isn't shown in the row. Checking a box kicks off a background AI translation for that language - it takes a few seconds to a minute. Already-translated languages appear checked and locked.

Once a translation lands, visitors automatically see a language switcher in the top menu with every enabled language. Right after you upgrade to Business Booster the site also starts auto-translating into all 6 extra languages in the background - no need to wait.

Want to upgrade to a multi-language plan? Upgrade to Business Booster and the site will be translated via AI into 6 additional languages to help you expand your customer base.

Site sections

Your site is built from sections (like Lego). Add, remove, hide, and rearrange them.

Adding a new section

On the edit bar of every section (the bar that appears on the edge in edit mode) there's a + button on the side. Clicking it opens a picker of section types:

  • Image, or image + text
  • Video (embedded from YouTube)
  • Services list
  • Pricing table
  • Image gallery
  • Customer testimonials
  • FAQ (questions & answers)
  • Free text

The new section is added below the one you clicked from, and you can drag it to another location.

Deleting a section

Only sections you added manually can be deleted entirely. On their edit bar there's a red × button - clicking it removes the section.

Original template sections can't be permanently deleted, but you can hide them (see below).

Hiding a section (without deleting)

On every section's edit bar there's a round on/off button (blue or gray). Clicking it hides the section from visitors - but keeps it in case you want to bring it back later.

Especially useful for a gallery or testimonials that aren't ready yet: hide them until you have content, without losing your settings.
Reordering sections
  • Sections that appear in the top menu - drag the menu item up or down, the section moves with it.
  • Other sections - use the ↑ ↓ arrows on their edit bar.
Adding a question to the FAQ section

In the FAQ section on the site, below the existing list, there's an "Add question" button. Clicking it adds an empty row. Click the question or the answer to type the text.

Deleting or reordering FAQ questions

Next to every question in the FAQ section there's a small delete button - clicking it removes just that row. To change the order - drag the question up or down.

Adding a pricing card / package

Below the pricing grid there's an "Add price" button. Clicking creates a new card with example values. Click each field on the card to edit:

  • Package name
  • Price
  • Short description
  • Feature / what's included list
Marking a package as "Popular"

Every pricing card has a small "Popular" checkbox. Checking it shows a prominent tag on the card and makes it visually more emphasized. Recommended to mark only one card - if you mark them all, none stands out.

Adding a service card

Below the services grid there's an "Add service" button. It adds a new card with an image, title, and description - click each to type the content.

Deleting a service card

Next to every service card there's a small delete button. Clicking it removes the card and the rest rearrange themselves in the grid automatically.

Adding a testimonial

Below the testimonials section there's an "Add testimonial" button. Then click the quote, name, role, or avatar to edit.

A real name + role adds a lot of trust. An empty avatar is totally fine if the customer didn't provide a photo.
Deleting a testimonial

Every testimonial has a small delete button. If you want to hide the whole section (because you don't have testimonials ready right now), it's better to use the section-hide button on the whole section rather than deleting one by one.

Editing the tags in the "About" section

In the "About" section there's a row of small tags (chips) showing areas of expertise. Clicking a tag opens editing of its text. There's also a + button to add a new tag and a small × button on each tag to delete it.

Hiding the profile photo in the "About" section

In the corner of the photo in the "About" section there's a "Show image" checkbox. Uncheck it and the photo will be hidden from visitors, but stays saved in case you want to bring it back.

Adding a video (from YouTube)

The video itself stays on YouTube - the site just embeds it. The steps:

Step 1: Uploading the video to YouTube

  1. Sign in: Go to YouTube and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Create: In the top corner of the screen, click the camera icon with the plus sign (+) and choose "Upload video".
  3. Choose the video: In the screen that opens, click the blue "Select files" button and choose the video you want from your computer or phone.
  4. Basic settings: While the video is uploading, you can give it a clear title and short description.
  5. Visibility (important!): On the last screen of the upload under "Visibility", pick the setting that suits you:
    • Unlisted: Recommended! The video won't appear in YouTube search - it's only shown to people who have the link or watch it through your site.
    • Public: Choose this if you want everyone to be able to find your video inside YouTube too.
  6. Finish: Click "Save" and wait for the upload to finish.

Step 2: Copying the video link

  1. Open the video you just uploaded on YouTube (as if you were about to watch it).
  2. Right below the video, click the Share button - a curved arrow icon.
  3. In the small popup window, click the Copy button next to the short link. The link is now saved to your computer's clipboard and ready to paste - you can now paste it into the URL box above the video block on your site.
We recommend uploading a video no longer than 2 minutes on the home page. Longer videos - better to place on a separate blog page.
4

Text editing

Change headings, paragraphs, your business name, and any other text on the site.

How to change text or a heading

In edit mode, just click on the text itself and start typing. No dialog, no separate window - you edit in place.

  1. Click once on the text you want to change.
  2. Type the new text (delete the existing text as needed).
  3. Click outside the text or move on to other content - everything saves on its own.
If the text looks too short or too long for its area - that's fine, the site adapts itself. Recommended line length: 8-12 words in a main heading.
How to change the business name

The business name appears in the header corner (above the site) and also in the browser tab title. In edit mode click it and type the new name - both places update together.

5

Images & gallery

Replace, reposition, delete, and upload images on your site.

Replacing an existing image

In edit mode, click the image you want to replace. A file picker opens - choose a new image from your computer or phone and it swaps immediately.

After the swap, if the image looks cropped or off-center - drag it with the cursor (or long-press the middle handle on mobile) until the desired part shows correctly.

Image is cropped or off-center - how to align

Drag the image with the cursor on desktop, or long-press the middle handle on mobile, until the desired part appears in the center. Auto-saves the moment you release.

Deleting an image from the gallery

In the gallery, every image has a small × button in the corner - clicking deletes it. In other sections (About, Services) an image isn't deleted - it's just replaced on click.

Uploading multiple images at once to the gallery

Below the gallery there's an "Add images" button. It opens a multi-select file picker - you can select several images and upload them all at once.

Uploading a video to the gallery Business Booster

On the Business Booster plan you can upload videos straight into the gallery - no need to upload to YouTube and embed. The video appears as a tile in the gallery; visitors click it to open a full-screen player with play, pause, scrubber and fullscreen controls.

  1. In edit mode, click the "Add images" button below the gallery. The file picker will show video files alongside images.
  2. Pick the clip from your computer or phone (you can also drag a video file straight onto one of the gallery tiles).
  3. Upload starts immediately. A ~30-second iPhone clip (~30MB) uploads in under a minute on a decent connection.
  4. Once uploaded, the video appears as a tile with a play glyph. Clicking it in view mode opens the player.

Supported formats: MP4, MOV (iPhone recordings), WebM, M4V. Maximum size: 80MB per clip.

Delete or replace: exactly like an image - the × button in the tile corner deletes; clicking the tile in edit mode replaces the file. Drag the reorder handle in the corner to change the order.

Keep videos to 30-45 seconds - they load fast on mobile and deliver your core message before visitors lose patience. For longer videos consider uploading to YouTube and embedding as described in the "Adding a video (from YouTube)" section. Free plans support images only - attempting to upload a video shows an upgrade notice. Contact the WebsiteAI team to upgrade.

Contact details

Phone, email, WhatsApp message, address, and map - all in the top toolbar.

Changing the phone number

In the top toolbar of edit mode there's a "Phone" field. Update it there and the number updates across the whole site: the call button, the WhatsApp link, everywhere.

If the site is already published: there's an SMS verification step sent to the new number to confirm it's yours.
Changing the email address

In the top toolbar there's an "Email" field. Update it there. If the site is already published, we'll need to re-verify by sending a verification code to the new address.

Changing the WhatsApp message text

When a visitor clicks the WhatsApp button on the site, a chat opens for them with a pre-filled message. That text is set in the "Message" field in the top toolbar of edit mode. Edit it like any text field - it saves automatically.

A good example: "Hi, I saw your site and would love details about ___". General enough to fit any visitor, specific enough to save the "please call me back" back-and-forth.
Updating the address and map

In the top toolbar there's an "Address" field. Type the full address there and the map in the "Contact" section updates automatically to Google Maps of that location.

Even if you leave the address empty - the map is always shown. Without a specific address it displays a country-wide view of the UAE (good for mobile or nationwide businesses).
Updating service areas

In the top toolbar there's a "Service areas" field. Enter the areas where you operate - cities, regions in the country - or leave it empty if you work everywhere regardless of your address.

Hiding the map from the site

In the corner of the map in the "Contact" section there's a "Show map" checkbox. Uncheck it and the map will be hidden. Useful for businesses without a fixed physical address (technicians, consultants).

An image is shown in place of the map - by default it's a copy of your Hero image. Click it to replace with a different image. The replacement changes only this image, not the Hero above.

7

Publishing & domain

From draft to live, publish status, your own domain, taking a site down.

How to publish the site

In edit mode there's a green "Publish" button in the corner. It opens a short 5-step wizard: details verification, accessibility, plan selection (free or paid), domain selection, and picking a password for future editing.

At the end, the site goes live and the sharing link is shown. Keep the password in a safe place - you need it to enter editing again.

How to tell if the site has been published
  • If you see a top bar with the heading "Site in progress" and a green Publish button - the site is still a draft.
  • If that bar doesn't appear, the site is already live. To edit it, add "/edit" to the site URL and enter the password you chose.
I forgot my editing password

On the password-entry screen there's a "Forgot password" link. Clicking it sends a reset code to the email or SMS you registered at publish time.

Not arriving? Write to us on WhatsApp and a manual reset will be done within a few minutes.
Connecting your own domain Business Booster

After the site is published and you're on the Business Booster plan, a "Connect domain" button will appear in the top bar. From there you can:

  • Register a new domain through us (for example your-name.co.il).
  • Connect an existing domain you already have with another host.

The annual domain renewal is also included in the plan - as long as your Business Booster subscription is active, we renew the domain at our expense.

Need help with the DNS settings of an existing domain? Contact us and we'll guide you step by step.
Business email on your domain Business Booster

Once your domain is registered you can open business mailboxes on it (e.g. you@your-domain.co.il). Two steps:

  1. Pick a provider and sign up. The two popular choices:
    • Google Workspace - Gmail - approx. cost at Google ~$6/user/month.
    • Microsoft 365 - Outlook - approx. cost at Microsoft ~$6/user/month.
  2. Return to WebsiteAI and click "Set up business email" in the top bar. The button opens a small dialog where you pick the provider and we write the DNS records (MX, SPF, DMARC, and for Microsoft also Autodiscover) automatically - "almost one click."

If your domain is hosted at an external DNS provider (not registered through us), the same button shows you the records to copy yourself, with a "Copy all" shortcut.

DKIM (an extra record the provider generates after signup) isn't seeded automatically - send us the value and we'll add it within one business day.
Google Analytics / Tag Manager code and site statistics Business Booster

Embedding tracking code is available only to Business Booster subscribers. Basic statistics (visits, WhatsApp clicks, contact-form submissions) are available on every plan.

How to add a Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager code:

  1. Enter edit mode on your site.
  2. Click the Google icon (the colourful G) in the top toolbar, next to the question mark.
  3. Paste the full <script> block you copied from Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager - the whole block, as-is.
  4. If you have a Google Search Console verification code, paste just the string itself (without the full <meta> tag).
  5. Click "Save".

How this works and why it's safe: we don't store the raw code you pasted. We only extract the tracking ID (GTM-... / G-... / UA-...) and that ID is the only thing stored in the database and embedded on the site. Even if someone tries to paste a malicious script - only the ID itself reaches the site, not the code. The snippet that appears on your pages is Google's official one wrapped around your ID, as Google recommends.

Basic statistics: the same panel shows how many visits the site received, how many clicked the WhatsApp button, and how many enquiries came in via the contact form (enquiries appear only after email verification).

Taking the site down (unpublishing)

Taking a site down isn't done from editing - it's set as an action requiring personal approval to prevent accidental deletions.

Send us a message on WhatsApp with exactly what to do: take down completely, pause temporarily, or keep it at a different address. We'll handle it within 3-5 business days.

AI blog for site promotion

Business Booster

The site supports a blog with auto-generated articles. Here's how to approve, edit, and cancel them.

New article - how to review and approve

When there's a new article pending, a yellow "New article to approve in blog" button appears in the toolbar. Clicking it opens a full editor with:

  • List of articles (drafts, active, archive)
  • Editing the title, paragraphs, and images
  • Status: draft / active / cancelled
Drafts you don't cancel go live automatically after 7 days. This means you won't miss a publish even if you forget to approve - and you can still edit after publishing.
Cancelling a draft article scheduled to publish

In the blog editor (open it via the yellow button in the toolbar), open the article and mark its status as "Cancelled". This stops the automatic publish after 7 days.

Changed your mind? You can move it back to draft or active any time from that same screen.

Online shop with PayPal checkout

Business Booster

Open a shop on your site, manage products, shipping options, connect PayPal, and handle orders.

How to open a shop on your site (Business Booster)

Available on the Business Booster plan only.

Once you have an active Business Booster subscription, a small cart icon 🛒 appears in the top edit toolbar. Clicking it opens the "Manage shop" panel with 3 tabs:

  1. Products - add and edit products.
  2. Settings - shop currency, notification email, shipping options, and PayPal email.
  3. Orders - unlocks automatically once the first two tabs are complete ⌛

Once the shop is set up and you have at least one active product, a "Shop" button automatically appears in the site menu and footer, and the shop is open for business.

Adding a new product to the shop

The "Products" tab has three buttons in the corner:

  • + Add product - opens an empty product row for manual entry.
  • Import from gallery - opens a confirmation dialog showing how many gallery images will be imported. On confirm, one product is created per image. Each image is copied into a separate file owned by the product (so deleting the product later won't affect the gallery images). Products are added disabled, with price 0, name "Product" and description taken from the image alt text - so you can edit and activate only the ones you want.
  • Upload images - select or drag multiple images from your computer at once. Each becomes a new product (disabled, price 0, name "Product") - same idea as import from gallery, but from your own files.

Product fields:

  • Product name - short and clear, e.g. "Cotton T-shirt - black".
  • Image - click the square or drag a file from your computer. We automatically convert to WebP and resize to a uniform size. A loading shimmer appears on the thumbnail while the upload runs.
  • Short description - one or two lines max.
  • Price - the price the customer actually sees.
  • Active / off toggle - a disabled product isn't shown in the shop but is saved for future use.

To reorder products - drag the ⋮⋮ handle at the start of the row. Display order in the shop starts from the top.

Shop settings - currency, emails, shipping, and PayPal

The "Settings" tab defines the general shop details:

  • Currency - AED, USD, or EUR. Affects display to the customer and billing through PayPal.
  • Shop owner email - notifications about every new order arrive here with all customer and item details. If the customer replies to their thank-you email, the reply lands directly with you.
  • Shipping options - add at least one option (e.g. "Self pickup", "Courier delivery") with a price.
  • PayPal email - the email address of your PayPal account. Payments arrive directly here.

All changes are saved automatically within a second of typing - there's no separate save button.

Connecting the shop to a PayPal account

Customer money arrives directly to you through your PayPal account - WebsiteAI never holds the money and there are no WebsiteAI transaction fees.

How to connect:

  1. Make sure you have a PayPal account. If you don't yet - open one on PayPal (free, takes a few minutes).
  2. In the "Settings" tab of the shop-manage modal, enter your PayPal account email in the PayPal email field.
  3. That's it - no API keys to copy and no external windows to open.

Fees: There are no WebsiteAI fees on shop transactions - only the regular PayPal fees charged by PayPal themselves, which are deducted from the payment as usual.

Important: Make sure the email you entered is actually linked to an active PayPal account, otherwise payments won't reach you. If you're a business - it's recommended to open a PayPal Business account (higher receiving limits, better dispute-management tools).
Managing orders and sending updates to customers

The "Orders" tab opens automatically once products and settings are ready. The first order gets number 10000, and each new order counts up by 1.

Above the table: total income overall, filter by status and filter by date range.

Possible statuses:

  • New (green) - payment received, awaiting handling.
  • In process (orange) - you've started handling the order.
  • Completed (gray) - closed, shipped, or delivered.
  • Canceled (red) - canceled for some reason (no automatic refund - refunds are handled manually in PayPal).

Every status change sends the customer an automatic update email. If the customer replies to the email - the reply lands in your shop owner email.

Clicking an order row opens a window with all the details: order items, customer info (name, email, phone, address), shipping type, and totals. There's also a "Print to PDF" button for creating a basic invoice for printing or saving.

What happens when someone buys from the shop?

The moment a customer successfully completes a payment through PayPal, an automatic process begins:

  1. A new order opens with "New" status in your table.
  2. The customer receives a thank-you email with an order summary. The sending address is WebsiteAI's, but a reply comes back to you at the shop owner email.
  3. You receive a detailed email with all customer info, items, and totals - to the email you set in the "Settings" tab.
  4. A short SMS also arrives at the phone number we have in your profile ("New order #10015 for AED 250 from Ahmed Ali") so you know immediately without opening email.

The money arrives in your PayPal account at that moment (after PayPal's own standard fees are deducted) - no waiting days or monthly payments, and no WebsiteAI transaction fees.

10

Account & billing

Open an additional site, cancel your subscription, refunds.

Opening an additional site

Send our opening message again on WhatsApp ("interested in an accessible site") and the system will open a new site for you, separate from the existing one. There's a limit of 5 free sites per phone number.

How do I upgrade to Business Booster, and what does it give me?

You can upgrade to Business Booster during the site's publish flow. If you've already published on the free plan and want to switch to Business Booster, click the upgrade button on the site's edit page.

What are the benefits of Business Booster?

The subscription gives you a professional domain that represents you, visibility in AI-search engines (ChatGPT, Gemini & Perplexity) so customers can find you, a blog that writes itself and promotes you, automatic translation into five languages, and exposure to new audiences - it all works for you in the background, without you having to do a thing.

Cancelling a subscription or refund Business Booster

Cancellations and refunds aren't done from editing - they're handled personally to make sure nothing is missed.

Write to us on WhatsApp with what you'd like (immediate cancellation, cancel at end of period, refund, plan change) and we'll take care of it with you directly.
